Last year’s Mansion House reforms saw some of the UK’s biggest defined contribution (DC) pension schemes commit to investing 5% of their default funds into private market assets by 2030 – a move the new UK Government is set to support through its pensions review and proposals for what it’s calling a 'big bang on growth'.

A number of pension schemes and providers have started to turn their commitments on private markets into reality including Legal & General, a founder signatory of the Mansion House Compact. In July, Legal & General launched its own diversified private markets offering for DC members.

But what are DC scheme members’ views of private market investments and could these type of assets be used to engage them more with their pensions?

This webinar will look at research commissioned by Legal & General and independently conducted by Ignition House, to find out what DC members know about private markets and what they think about them.

It will discuss what type of assets could be included in private market portfolios in DC and whether these type of investments might be able to offer wider societal benefits as well as longer-term financial returns for pension funds.

The webinar will also examine how investments by DC schemes could benefit the UK economy and help drive long-term growth.
