About this webinar:
Six months on from the beginning of lockdown in the UK, the impact of Covid-19 on defined contribution pension savings and investment strategies is starting to become clearer.
While some have stopped or reduced pension contributions during the crisis, many have maintained or even increased the level of retirement savings.
But the coronavirus has also had an impact on DC investment strategies – and an increasing number of schemes are using the pandemic to review their default offerings to members, considering among other things the role ESG plays in scheme portfolios at a time when issues of social responsibility are increasingly coming to the fore.
This webinar will assess how DC schemes are beginning to change their investment strategies in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic – asking if the turbulence of the last few months has merely changed the timescale for existing investment plans or led to a more fundamental review of strategy.
It will also look at how ESG is coming even more to the fore at the current time – and how DC schemes should now be integrating ESG factors in their strategies – as well as assessing the investment implications of the government’s review of the default fund charge cap, which was launched earlier this summer.
As well as this it will also discuss illiquid investment in DC and the challenges such investments have faced during Covid-19 but also ask why, despite the long-term merits of illiquid investments for DC and a regulatory push in this area, it appears we are now further away than ever from widespread adoption of this asset class.
