Webinar description:
The economic backdrop has changed markedly over the past 12 months – with the UK facing the pressures of inflation, rising interest rates and slowing economic growth.
Such pressures have had a mixed impact on pension schemes. On one hand, investing in traditional asset classes such as equities and fixed income has been more challenging but, on the other, scheme funding has improved as both rising yields and higher levels of inflation have reduced liabilities, bringing endgame nearer for some.
This webinar will look at how schemes should respond to the changing economic environment and how fiduciary managers can help them meet the new challenges they face.
Our speakers will look at liability-driven investment and how scheme hedging should change as a result of higher inflation and rising yields.
They will also assess the strategic investment opportunities the current environment provides – particularly in areas such as distressed, illiquid and private market investments – as well as the opportunities it provides with regards to ESG and sustainability.
In addition to this they will assess how schemes that are closing in on endgame should prepare and the changes to the portfolios they should consider.
